Great Day in Maui

Our last stop in the Hawaiian Islands was Lahina, Maui, we had to use a tender to get ashore the dock is too small for a big ship.  Friends, Russ and Nancy Kanady, met us and drove us along the narrow road north, with breathtaking scenery of cliffs, coves, small villages, and twisting one-way hairpin curves.  It was fabulous.  We stopped at an artists studio, a beautiful gift shop and ate lunch at the public golf course.  Afterward we stopped at an impressive plantation where we admired the gardens and the new zip line.

Onboard the tender heading back to the ship four whales were putting on a show.  I shot this photo from our balcony using my camera with the broken screen.  I’m amazed that I actually photographed the whale.  I won’t tell you how many photos of plain water I deleted before I found this shot.

Five more days at sea and we will return to the port of San Pedro, Los Angeles.  I may not be able to get internet, if I can I will post again.
