Giants vs Rangers at Surprise Stadium, AZ

After a morning of interesting lectures the Road Scholars traveled to Surprise Stadium for an afternoon game of spring training baseball.  Pictured is Bob Niebrugge entering the beautiful, comfortable stadium.  Artist Niebrugge and her husband sat with the other members of the Road Scholar group on the second level, in the shade, at the first base line.  Excellent seatsContinuing the Giants winning streak, these champions won the game against the Texas Rangers.  Pictured above is a fast ball streaking toward Andres Torres, he was the lead batter in the first inning.  The Phoenix sunshine is wonderful, and so are the beer, peanuts, and polish sausage.  The Niebrugges subscribe to the old adage; “when is Rome, do as the Romans do.”
