Planning the trip to Seward for the Mural

I am busy preparing for my trip to Seward, Alaska, next week where the Seward Mural Society will paint my mural design on panels that will eventually be mounted on the outside of a building downtown. My husband and I considered many choices for lodging for our four day trip, and until yesterday were planning to camp along the waterfront in our truck and camper. But, a better offer changed our minds. We will be the guests of Bay Vista Bed and Breakfast, a fabulous home with warm hospitality nestled high on the hillside above the town. This arrangement will be perfect! We can drive our SUV and be free to roam around the town on during our visit.

We especially love to visit Seward because our son, Ron, and daughter in law, Janine, live there. They run a successful professional photography business out of their home, and are always involved in some interesting assignment. We love to visit and talk with them, our conversations often lasting far into the night. So, this project will be a wonderful chance to catch up with our family and visit friends in one of our favorite places in Alaska.

Thursday, September 21, the Mural Society will enlarge my design on to individual panels that measure 8’ x 34’ in total. I am anxious to supervise this part of the project. I’m sure that many of the lines in my rough sketch will need adjusting, and the color numbers will need to be added to spaces that were too small on my sketch to mark. The planning stage of this project is crucial to its success. I will take plenty of photos and post the progress of the mural on my blog. Keep checking for updates.
