Great Dining at Kennicott Glacier Lodge, Alaska

KennicottCookDuring my week at the Kennecott Mines National Historic Landmark gathering new research for future paintings, I enjoyed “wilderness gourmet” food, including freshly baked bread and pastries, daily green salads, and perfectly prepared entrees such as Alaska salmon, New York steaks, Cornish game hens, and home made desserts.  Here is one of my favorite cooks at the Kennicott Glacier Lodge, Jeannie Miller.  She catered and pampered my husband Bob with special food that fit a diabetic diet.  KennicottPorchHere is Bob enjoying the sunshine on what we call the “world-class porch” overlooking the glacier.  This is a lovely place to eat lunch and have a beer or glass of wine.  The tables are totally full at lunch time, so arrive early for a seat on the porch.
