Here is the current information regarding my proposed mural for a building (not yet selected) in Seward this year. The Seward Mural Society sponsors this project, it is called the 2006 “Mural in a Day”, and it is painted during the Seward Music and Arts Festival, September 23-24 at the Alaska Railroad Terminal in Seward, Alaska.
My job will be to design the mural, furnish a color concept with detailed color and paint selection specifications. The Seward Mural Society will transfer the design onto a large surface suitable for outdoor installation. The mural is painted under my supervision during the two days of the music and arts festival. The big challenge will be to translate my pointillism technique for enlargement. Pointillism is a very slow technique, I’m not sure how I’m going to get 23-24 people to do large dots fast! I will be fun trying!
I look forward to working with the Seward Mural Society, and am excited to see the outcome of this joint effort. I’ll keep you posted on the details as they are confirmed. Keep checking this blog for updates.
