Picturesque Juneau, Alaska

Back to my journal; day four of our seven day Alaska cruise found us basking under sunshine in the capitol city of Alaska, Juneau.  We had a busy, fun-filled day touring as much of Juneau as we could cram into our schedule.  Pictured above are Bob and I at the fabulous Mendenhall Glacier.  We were able to visit the Juneau Pioneer Home and see a commission I painted for the entry lobby in 1991.  The highlight of our day was a personal tour of the Governor’s mansion and the capitol building.

Here Bob, our tour guide, Russell, Nancy, Tim and Lynn enjoy the beautiful ballroom of the Alaska Governor’s mansion.  The building is under renovation on the outside and wrapped in plastic visqueen, we were fortunate to be able to tour the inside.
