Paintings for Teeland School Library

Artist Gail Niebrugge was commissioned in 2006 through the State of Alaska Per Cent For Art program to create five paintings for the Teeland Middle School Library, Wasilla, Alaska, with subject matter reflective of the landscape in the Matanuska-Susitna valley.

The panels appear from left to right in this order;

“Cow with Calf” 18″ x 27″ acrylic on Sintra pointillism painting, the image represents the huge population of moose in the valley, often seen walking through yards and on roadways.  “Cow with Calf” is available as a mini print and a limited edition giclee print in two sizes.

“Vintage Valley” 18″ x 13″ acrylic on Sintra pointillism painting, this image represents the history and and common wildflower Fireweed abundant in the valley.  “Vintage Valley” is available as a limited edition giclee print in two sizes.

The center panel 18″ x 48″ titled “Rainbow of Promise” acrylic on Sintra painted with pointillism features the prominent mountain across the Knik and Matanuska River, Pioneer Peak, during late summer when void of snow.  “Rainbow of Promise” is available as a limited edition giclee print.“Meadow Brook” 18″ x 13″ acrylic on Sintra in pointillism features one of the hundreds of tiny streams that flow from the surrounding Talkeetna and Chugiak mountains into the Matanuska valley.The final panel features one of the many barns that enrich this fertile land with a red fox scampering through the hay field, “Red Barn and Fox” 18″ x 27″ acrylic on Sintra painted in pointillism.  “Red Fox and Barn” is available as a mini art print.
