Original Painting Magenta Alaska Tundra SOLD

Original Painting by Artist Gail Niebrugge

Original painting “Magenta Marsh”

16″ x 20″ acrylic on Masonite SOLD

One of the last paintings in Alaska artist Gail Niebrugge’s Denali Highway series, “Magenta Marsh” was completed in 1992 and depicts the Tangle Lakes region during a serious cloud cover.  Niebrugge explains, “This was one of those moments during a storm when the rain takes a pause, the air is calm and heavy, silver water motionless and the tundra intensely vivid, richly colored enhanced by dampness, each leaf holding a pearl of water, stunning and awesome.  A moment in time, suspended, and painted to remember.”  A limited edition print of “Magenta Marsh” was made in 1993 and given to preferred customers by the National Bank of Alaska as a Christmas gift.  All 2,500 copies are signed by the artist and the president of the bank, and are a collectors item today.  After reviewing her early work of the Denali Highway she is again inspired and ready to jump into the truck and camper and visit this exquisite part of interior of Alaska again.

  1. Karen Provo says:

I would buy a painting of the tangle lakes by the camp ground if you had one. It is our favorite place to be in the summer.

  2. I have painted that area many times during my 36 years in Alaska, I agree it is a wonderful place in the summer. I don’t think I have anything available at the moment of that exact area. Thank you for your interest in my work.

  3. Magenta Marsh is sooo pretty! You are very talented. Do you get your prints done in Alaska, or where? The prints look very nice. Where are you going to show for 2013?

    Wonderful work!

  4. Thank you Ashley. Some are done in Maui, some in Tucson, some in Juneau, Alaska, some made at the Studio. The only show scheduled so far in 2013 is our booth at the Alaska State Fair. I’ll post updates on my Events calendar as we consider other options. Thanks again.
