Rika’s Roadhouse is the centerpiece of the Big Delta State Historical Park, Delta, and another in Alaska artist Gail Niebrugge’s drawings of historic buildings and roadhouses in rural Alaska. This roadhouse served travelers from 1913 to 1947, and is maintained as a museum today by the Delta Historical Society. At the time Niebrugge did her research for this artwork the tires on this old vehicle were skewed at strange angles giving it a jaunty character. This pen and ink drawing of “Rika’s Roadhouse” is available for sale.
