Original Painting by Artist Gail Niebrugge

Alaska landscape painting “Copper Center Trail”

Original acrylic painting 15.5″ x 22″ on rag paper, call for price and availability.

Alaska artist Gail Niebrugge discovered this original painting in the bottom of a forgotten file drawer, hidden underneath children’s drawings, folders full of old proposals and submissions, and other miscellaneous art from the past.  This lovely little jewel of a landscape painting resided for years without a signature or a title.  Clearly it was stored from a previous move with the intention to give it a name, signature, have it photographed, framed, and enter it into the “Original Painting” database.  Protected by shrink wrap it is now available next to others in the “unframed” original art bin the gallery room of the Niebrugge home/studio.

This landscape was painted sometime during 1998 after moving to Palmer, and shows the dirt trail to the fish wheel from the artist’s previous home along the Copper River in Copper Center, Alaska.  This scene depicts Gail’s favorite time of the year when the paper birch shimmer and glow with the colors of fall.   Niebrugge traversed this trail nearly every day for seventeen years using skis during winter and can only remember encountering a handful of people along the way, most of the time she had this beautiful place to herself.  Original landscape painting “Copper Center Trail” is now offered for sale.
