Another in the Alaska wildflower series by artist Gail Niebrugge.  The Alaska State flower is the tiny, blue forget-me-not and is abundant growing under larger plants along the sub-alpine slopes of Hatcher Pass, Palmer.  It is abundant throughout most of Alaska and blooms on south slopes in late May and June, and northern cooler areas in August.  The tiny flowers are only 1/4″ in size and have five rounded blue petals.  Some flower white or pink, but the vivid blue is most common.  Gail researched wildflowers extensively for her book, “Alaska Wildflowers”, described as; “An Artists Journey in Paintings and Prose”.
