Sorry about the poor quality photo, it was raining and my son-in-law just flew past me with granddaughter Quincy in the adaptive sit ski. I snapped this shot as they zoomed by in a blur.
I haven’t learned to downhill ski yet, so anyone that I see on those thin boards flying downhill has my total attention and respect. My daughter, her husband and three children love to downhill ski. What is so amazing is that with the adaptive ski equipment and the support of a fantastic organization Challenge Alaska, the entire family can ski together and include Quincy.
We are very proud of our son-in-law, Rob Buck, who just recently became a licensed ski instructor with adaptive equipment through Challenge Alaska. He is amazing to watch skiing with Quincy. My two other little grandchildren are tigers on the slopes as well. I guess I’m going to have to learn to ski if I want to spend time with this active family. And, I’m certainly going to be a volunteer at Challenge Alaska. See you on the slopes next season!
