We Moved the Owl Decoy Today
As a test we moved the owl decoy from the dock today, and will keep it off the dock for awhile. Hopefully the Mallards will not take up residence on the dock again. The Mallards have been floating right by the dock several times a day, but haven’t been up on the dock since the arrival of the owl decoy. The purpose of moving the owl is to encourage swallows to nest in the nesting box near the dock. My son emailed from Seward that the swallows returned there in full force today. So, they should show up here soon! Until then we will watch, and wait, and learn. I’ll continue to post results as they happen.
