Preparing for The Mat Su Holiday Marketplace
Tomorrow we set up our booth at the Wasilla Sports Complex for the Mat Su Holiday Marketplace Saturday and Sunday, November 4-5, 2006. This is the third year for this wonderful show that features artists and craftsmen from all over Alaska.
This is a busy time of the year for us, we have shows every weekend. The following weekend, November 10-12, we will be in Fairbanks at the Fairbanks Holiday Marketplace the held in the Carlson Center.
Driving to and from the shows towing the art trailer takes a bit longer now that the weather is below freezing and snow and ice are on the roads. We take our time driving to Fairbanks and do the 6-7 hour trip during the daylight hours. In the past we have had every kind of weather imaginable during our Fairbanks drive. One time we were in white out blizzard conditions for more than half the time. That trip took 12 hours. This year we are hoping for clear, sunny weather and ice free roads.
