Pointillism Detail 24

Above is a detail close-up of the new roof at the top of the Kennicott Ore Crushing Mill in the Kennicott painting. Numerous layers of dots have been applied at this stage.
At this point I lightened exterior walls of the top of the mill building to make it look more weathered. Notice some of the buildings are brighter red than others, I like the interesting pattern that this creates. I’m not sure if I will leave the top this pale, it seems fine now, but the decision will be made once the glacial moraine in the background is completely painted and I can see how well the total composition works. I have procrastinated painting the moraine long enough, time has run out, it’s time to paint the moraine in pointillism. In the meantime, I’ve been having a lot of fun with the buildings and shadows.
More tomorrow.
