Pointillism Detail 16

Above is a close-up detail of the foliage in a small section of the Kennicott original painting. Many colored dots are used to establish highlights, midtones, and shadows.SpruceRoof2.jpg

At this point pointillism defines detail in the large spruce tree, and the red wall behind the tree. A few highlights appear on branches in the foliage and I painted the larger leaves with yellow greens.
