A section of the repainted sky in the Kennicott painting showing three layers of of dots.
Four layers of dots have been applied, the new dots are all greyed mixes of the original hues.
More greyed hues added to the fifth layer. The density of dots is very close to what I want. The color transitions are a bit abrupt, the next layer will fill in the spaces and perfect the gradation from light to dark.
