Packing for the Arts and Crafts Emporium
We are restocking and preparing for the Arts and Crafts Emporium at the Egan Center, downtown Anchorage this weekend. Our booth is in a very nice, cheery location in the Egan Center lobby. This will be our eighth year to participate in this event.
We look forward to seeing downtown Anchorage during winter, it is truly beautiful and lives up to its name “The City of Lights.” Hundreds of trees twinkle and sparkle under garlands of miniature lights along the streets and in the parks.
I’m a little concerned about the weather however, we are experiencing very strong winds some gusting to 70-80 mph. The forecast is for the winds to calm down by Friday and I pray that they will, otherwise towing our little light weight art trailer could be a challenge.
Strong winds are currently rocking the house and loosening roof shingles above the studio on the second floor. The flapping, banging and ripping noise of airborne shingles is a little disconcerting. Otherwise we are snug and warm. Such is life in Alaska.
