The book certainly documents my life as an artist with respect to the "ups" and "downs" of living in bush Alaska. Learning to fly was the biggest adrenalin rush of my life, many times after landing I'd climb out of the plane and nearly collapse because my legs were still shaking. Flying in the bush with only a compass and a needle and ball for instruments was a challenge, today pilots have it so much better with all the sophisticated GPS instruments. What a treasure for Alaskans to have you here creating such wonderful artwork. I saw a book about your wildflower paintings at the "Nookstore" (Nanook Bookstore) this past week and couldn't resist...and I couldn't stop reading once I started. You certainly have led an amazing and blessed life! What an adventure flying a small plane must be! Were you nervous to do it at all? I think I must have the heart of an artist - but I wish I had the hands of one as well! *Maybe* eventually I'll save up enough money to buy one of your paintings. :) This is such a beautiful image.
