McCarthy Lodge 30 years of Change

McCarthylodge2.1979.jpg

My reference photo of the lodge circa 1979, a period that I really enjoy painting. The buildings were rough, and authentic, not gussied up to look “old”.

Photo circa 1985, not much has changed except the new red new roof. Note the multi-level birdhouse in the tree

McCarthylodge2.2002.jpg

Circa 2002, this photo shows a new screened porch is added to the side and a new “old” building built next door to the lodge on the right.

McCarthylodge2.2007.jpg

2007 photo, the screened porch is enclosed, a covered porch added to the front of the lodge and is repainted white, the new “old” building next door also has a covered porch. It is hard to see here, but the multi-story birdhouse that graced the big tree is now mounted on the peak of the lodge roof. Details are my thing.
More tomorrow,
