Getting Ready for the Make it Alaskan Festival

Bob in our frame shop finishing the last minute matting, framing, and shrink wrapping for the Make it Alaskan Festival this week, October 3-5, at the Sullivan Arena, Anchorage, Alaska. We have been exhibiting at this venue since 1995, and still occupy the same space along the rim on the north side of the arena.

Inside our show cargo trailer the booth walls are strapped securely into place, next the framed artwork will be loaded, and last will be the plastic containers full of small stuff. The trailer will be full, we bring a dolly and several sizes of ladders because our booth walls are 10′ tall. This year we are trying a new lighting system utilizing track lighting with 12 volt converters. Our old halogen system went into melt down at the last show when insufficient protection was provided while sharing power sources. Little issues such as inadequate power, and inconsistent internet access, and bad cell phone reception make these kind of shows a challenge. Fortunately, once we locate a good booth space like the one we have for the Make it Alaskan Festival, we know what to expect and can plan accordingly.
We hope to see many of you sometime during the three day event.

Hello Bea!
thank you for stopping by my web site, you have an interesting site as well. My grandmother and most of my aunts and uncles were born in Germany. I’ve visited southern Germany once, it is beautiful.
Greetings from Alaska!
