First Layer Underpainting
Kennicott original painting in progress. Pointillism is beginning to cover the underpainting the lower third, the center and most of the top are just quick strokes of the first layer of under painting. The sky is pointillism, but I think I will change it after the mountains are more defined.
A close up of the quick, loose underpainting. Few dots have been applied to this area. Many changes will take place before this section will be finished. A painting of this size, 3′x4′, will take about three months to finish.
