Last Show of 2007

Today is the last day of the Arts and Crafts Emporium at the Egan Center, downtown Anchorage. Our booth is located in the lobby and we will be there until 5:00PM.

November 24, the Saturday after Thanksgiving, is the date of the Colony High School Arts and Crafts Show and is our last show of the year. This one day event is held at the school located in Palmer, Alaska, and our booth is conveniently situated in the main hall. Artwork can also be purchased directly from our studio, and visitors are welcome by appointment.

The Limo Awaits!

We had a lovely visit with guests from Entree Alaska Custom Tours the other day, they arrived via Rusts Flying Service float plane at our dock. The limo was on stand-by as our guests toured the studio and joined us for lunch. We said good bye as they departed in the limo to catch a cruise in Seward. What a way to travel!

The Importance of Light in a Painting

Gathering research for future paintings is one of the best parts of the job as an artist who specializes in the Alaska landscape. Unfortunately the weather in this region has been cold and wet this summer, and opportunities to do research with good light have been limited. Light is the key to my paintings, without a good source of light the landscape looks flat and uninspiring. Check out an example of a painting with a good light source; Pioneer Peak. (more…)
