A Reindeer Named “Star”

Famous Anchorage reindeer Star grazing in her pen while tourists watch through the viewing window. My friend, Albert Whitehead, cares for Star in her cozy home across from the park strip, downtown Anchorage, Alaska. Albert invited me inside the pen and encouraged me to feed her a treat, shredded wheat cereal.

Hi Gail
Great story on the STAR. I remember the Stewarts well. While living in Anchorage I shopped at there photo store in the 1950’s Sorry to learn of there passing they were good people and I am sure they are missed by the community.
The Best to you,

Hi Bill;
Thanks. I’m so grateful that my friend, Albert, has taken over the responsibility of caring for Star, and sharing the treasures that the Stewarts collected in their lifetime. If you ever get to Anchorage, stop by the old house and Albert will take you on a visit through the collection.
Best,
Gail
