Gorgeous Wild Iris
Tuesday, July 8th, 2008
My wild iris plants are finally growing and blooming this summer. Last year, after planting they stood like green statues, neither growing nor blooming. This summer they grew so fast that my neighbor, a local garden guru, said that the big clump will need to be divided once the bloom is finished. Although I’ve lived in Alaska for over three decades this is the first time I’ve tried to grow perennials and the thought of dividing a plant with a shovel horrifies me. I’ll let you know how it goes.
