CHSBazaar.jpg
Customers in the Niebrugge Studio Booth.

The Christmas Bazaar was a one-day whirlwind with setting up, tearing down and doing the show all in the same day! But, it was very doable with the willing help of the wonderful students of Colony High School. Bob and I were very impressed with the school and the organization of this excellent event. (more…)

Colony High School Christmas Bazaar

Friday, November 24th, 2006

Our inertia for packing for another exhibit has slowed down a bit now that our bellies are full of fabulous turkey, dressing, sweet potatoes, gravy, and pumpkin pie.  Nevertheless, we find ourselves readying for our last show of the season the Colony High School Christmas Bazaar, Saturday, November 25, 10:00AM-5:00PM, in Palmer, AK. Bob with some happy shoppers in the Niebrugge Studio booth at the Arts and Craft Emporium, Egan Center, Anchorage, AK last weekend. This is an extremely well attended event and fun for us because each evening after the show closes we enjoy going out to dinner and strolling the beautiful streets downtown.

Bob Niebrugge talking to customers in the Niebrugge Studio booth during the Fairbanks Holiday Marketplace.

We always look forward to three days at the very well attended Fairbanks Holiday Marketplace at the Carlson Center. The event is festive, laden with wonderful gifts and collectables, and jammed with shoppers. We love catching up with our friends and collectors sharing news, showing new art prints and original paintings. It was a busy, busy show. (more…)

Gorgeous Drive to Fairbanks

Tuesday, November 14th, 2006

Moose.jpg

The drive to Fairbanks was a pleasure, beautiful, clear and sunny all the way.  The roads were dry and well-maintained.  It always seems strange to pass through the deserted, boarded up village of Denali Park when only a few months ago it was alive with tour busses and people everywhere.  Now the traffic lights are shut down, snow drifts block the streets and not a soul is in sight, even the gas station is closed! We’re off to Fairbanks, no Rest for the Weary.

Monday, November 6th, 2006

The temperatures have plummeted, it was zero this morning. Winter has finally reached the Matanuska Valley. We are packing for our next show at the Carlson Center this weekend in Fairbanks. The drive should be spectacular if the weather stays the way it is today, clear and cold. The roads are reported to be dry and the landsape is at its peak of beauty under a layer of fresh snow. One of best parts of the Fairbanks show can be the drive, it can also be the trip from Hell if the weather turns bad. (more…)

MatSu.jpg
We had a fun day at the Mat Su Marketplace talking art and telling stories about my thirty years of painting Alaska. I especially enjoyed talking to young people who are taking art classes in school and explaining my technique of pointillism.
